A Little About Me
I grew up just outside of Ottawa, and after going to college for business, a temporary work opportunity brought me to Hamilton. As the story goes, I met a wonderful woman and never left. We’re now married, with a sweet little boy running around the house, and we spend most of our time with family, camping, or planning our next foodie adventure.
Before getting married, I purchased my first home in Hamilton in 2013. Housing was more affordable then, and I had the advantage of buying 50/50 with my brother (yes, we get along better than most siblings). It was my first experience working with a mortgage brokerage, and at the time, I didn’t fully appreciate how seamless they made the process.
Seven years later, newly married and planning for a growing family, we needed more space. After speaking directly with multiple banks and credit unions, we were disheartened to learn we didn’t qualify for what we needed and started losing hope. Reaching back out to our previous mortgage brokerage changed everything – they secured a significantly higher pre-approval and helped us move forward with confidence. That led us to a family home in Caledonia, a town we’ve come to love for its sense of community and the people who make it feel like home.
That experience showed me firsthand how the right mortgage professional can make all the difference.
Why I Became a Mortgage Agent
That moment was in 2021. Since then, rising interest rates and economic uncertainty have made homeownership more challenging – not just for first-time buyers, but also for homeowners renewing or refinancing their mortgages. I especially empathize with young families and individuals trying to save for a down payment while navigating today’s market.
I became a licensed Mortgage Agent to help people around these issues, by making informed, strategic decisions. Whether purchasing a first home, refinancing, consolidating debt, building a dream home, or investing in real estate, my goal is simple: to help people get ahead, not just approved.
What Experience Do I Bring?
I started my career at 15 in door-to-door sales for home improvement. I spent 14 years developing communication skills and eventually became General Manager of the Hamilton office. I later joined a family business start-up, helping grow it from a business incubator into a multi-million-dollar operation across several cities.
Why does this matter to you? These experiences taught me attention to detail, accountability, follow-through, and of course, how to communicate effectively. As a mortgage agent, my role is to fully understand your financial picture, then advocate for you by matching your needs with the right lender and mortgage solution. In other words, I’m here to present you as the perfect fit to the right lender.
